G2 Esports Dominates LEC Finals with High Kill Count

superadmin

G2 Esports emerged victorious in the LEC season finals against Fnatic, delivering one of the bloodiest series in recent League of Legends history. Throughout the 3-1 series win, G2 averaged over a kill per minute, showcasing their aggressive playstyle that has been consistent all summer.

In the first game against Fnatic, G2 secured 27 kills in just 27 minutes. They followed up with 26 kills in a 25-minute second game. Although they lost game three, G2 quickly rebounded in the fourth game, clinching the series with 24 kills in a swift 23 minutes.

Mid laner Caps and AD carry Hans Sama led the charge for G2 with 30 and 27 kills respectively, while jungler Yike and support Mikyx provided exceptional support with over 50 assists each.

G2’s kill-heavy performance against Fnatic reflects their playstyle throughout the summer split. They averaged an impressive 18.9 kills per game, the highest among all teams in the four major regions of League of Legends, according to LoL stats site Games of Legends.

Interestingly, three out of the top five teams worldwide in terms of kills per game are from the West, with Golden Guardians and NRG boasting 15.3 kills per game this summer. This is unusual as Western teams typically have less action-packed games compared to their Eastern counterparts, especially Chinese teams. In the previous year’s Summer Split, four out of the top five teams in kills per game were from China or Korea, with G2 being the only exception.

Furthermore, G2 is among the 11 major region teams this summer with an average game time below 30 minutes. Remarkably, they achieved this while maintaining an impressive record of 27-6 in games since the start of the Summer Split on June 17.

G2’s exceptional performance positions them as one of the strongest teams heading into the final tournament of the season. To succeed on the international stage, they must maintain the same level of urgency and aggression that propelled them to another LEC title.

G2’s journey towards the Summoner’s Cup begins on October 19 with the Worlds Swiss stage. The tournament kicks off with the Worlds Qualifying Series on October 9.
