CS2 players are facing a bizarre glitch where different maps are merging together during matchmaking games. This unexpected phenomenon is causing major obstacles for players, as crucial areas of the maps become visually blocked off. Holding bombsites has become incredibly challenging, as elements from other maps obstruct vital chokepoints. The bug is not limited to a single occurrence and has been reported by players worldwide on various maps.
For instance, players have witnessed Nuke’s entire outside area enveloping bombsites on Mirage. Although these merged map sections do not impede movement, they create a visual barrier that allows opponents to move undetected until it’s too late. Pipes, silos, and stairs stretch across the map, but not in the intended way, as demonstrated in a Reddit clip shared on Sept. 11.
Regrettably, there is currently no clear solution to this issue. Players may have to continue playing the match and hope that their opponents also encounter the glitch. Unless Valve intervenes to address the problem, it is likely to persist and affect more players.
However, it is important to note that glitches like this are not uncommon during the beta phase of CS2. Just last week, players reported visual bugs where the entire floor would burst into flames mid-game, adding an element of chaos to the gameplay. Valve has been proactive in addressing most issues, releasing multiple patches since the initial invite wave in early September. Given the frequency of new bugs emerging, it is expected that further updates will be released to rectify these issues.
