Diablo 4 has been facing difficulties in retaining players’ interest, and this was evident when an in-person event organized by the developers in South Korea failed to attract any audience. The event, held in collaboration with local esports channel TEN, was livestreamed on Diablo’s official YouTube and Twitch channels, but the viewership did not exceed 300 people. Screenshots from the livestream showed empty seats, and the streamer who attended the event was asked to stop streaming after expressing surprise at the lack of attendance.
Players commenting on the situation pointed out that this was a clear indication of the game’s decline, especially after Blizzard Entertainment received criticism for the lack of post-launch content. Many expressed their disappointment with the game, citing boring gameplay, unsatisfactory loot, and a lack of items to chase. However, some also hoped that this incident would prompt Blizzard to address the issues and improve the game.
The negative comments were not limited to the English-speaking community, as Korean viewers also expressed their disappointment with the event. The livestream comments in Korean criticized the organizers for the poor turnout, with one comment stating, “It’s not easy to screw up like this.”
Despite the current challenges, Diablo 4 is set to release Season Two on October 17, which is expected to bring new content and potentially revive interest in the game. Players are eagerly anticipating this update and hoping that it will address the game’s problems and provide engaging content to keep them invested.
