Riot Games has unleashed a devastating duo in League of Legends with the recent buffs to Goredrinker and Spear of Shojin. These two bruiser items, when combined, transform champions into unstoppable forces, capable of dishing out damage while remaining virtually unkillable.
In Patch 13.17, Riot not only improved Goredrinker’s recipe and increased its health benefits, but also gave Spear of Shojin a complete makeover. With changes to its build path, cost, bonus health, attack damage, and an incredibly powerful passive, this item has become a game-changer. Champions like Kayn, Jarvan IV, Hecarim, Renekton, Zed, Qiyana, Talon, and Xin Zhao have quickly embraced this deadly combination, while others like Nasus, Irelia, Sett, Jax, and Riven prefer one of the two items individually.
So, what makes this combination so special? These items not only provide bonus health and attack damage, but also turn any champion into a spell-spamming machine, rivaling the chaos of URF mode. Coupled with Death’s Dance and Black Cleaver, champions become nearly invincible, thanks to their innate survivability and self-healing.
Riot has taken notice of the havoc caused by these champions on Summoner’s Rift and is planning to nerf the combination in Patch 13.18. However, Goredrinker managed to escape the nerf hammer, while Spear of Shojin will only see a slight decrease in attack damage from 60 to 50.
Despite the upcoming nerfs, this item combination is expected to remain strong, allowing players to dominate the solo queue. If you haven’t heard about it yet, now is the time to unleash your terror on the Rift.
