100 Thieves Parts Ways with VALORANT Pros Derrek Ha and stellar

superadmin

100 Thieves has officially ended their partnership with Derrek Ha and stellar, two professional VALORANT players, as announced today. The organization has removed their names from the Americas section of the VCT Global Contract Database.

Both Ha and stellar joined 100 Thieves in April 2022, when the team underwent a change in management led by former general manager Daniel “ddk” Kapadia and head coach Sean Gares. This decision was made after a disappointing start to 100T’s VCT year. However, both ddk and Gares have since left the organization, with ddk’s departure being more recent. Former assistant coach Michael “Mikes” Hockom is also expected to step down from his head coaching role, making way for former EG assistant Tony “Zikz” Gray.

As of now, the active roster for 100 Thieves only consists of three players: Peter “Asuna” Mazuryk, Sean “bang” Bezerra, and Matthew “Cryocells” Panganiban, who was acquired during the previous offseason.

Following a disappointing end to their 2023 season, where they failed to qualify for the playoffs and suffered a surprising loss to MIBR, 100 Thieves has decided to make changes to their player and coaching lineup. This loss also marked the beginning of Evil Geniuses’ unexpected journey to becoming world champions. Additionally, 100T faced defeat in their opening match against Sentinels at the LCQ.

With several other teams in the VCT Americas League, such as Cloud9, Evil Geniuses, and NRG, reportedly making changes to their rosters, 100 Thieves will have a wide pool of players to choose from. Furthermore, there are numerous players who competed in Challengers that the organization could consider. However, there have been reports suggesting that 100T may significantly reduce their spending in 2024.
