Cloud9 Likely to Part Ways with Star Player leaf in Offseason

superadmin

The offseason between the 2023 and 2024 VCT seasons has begun, and it seems that Cloud9 will not be keeping their superstar duelist, leaf. The Global Contract Database does not list leaf or Zellsis, indicating that they may not be returning to the team. While Zellsis has confirmed his free agent status, leaf has remained silent. Reports suggest that Cloud9 is heading in a new direction, with former IGL vanity returning and a deal secured with former G2 player OXY. Both OXY and leaf are duelists, primarily playing Jett and Raze. If OXY joins Cloud9, it is likely that leaf will be leaving the team, unless there are plans for a major role change.

There have been rumors of leaf potentially joining forces with the former members of The Guard, who are currently without a primary duelist. Interestingly, G2, the organization that previously employed OXY, is reportedly in contention to pick up The Guard’s former players for the VCT Americas.
