Feeding and trolling have become common issues in League of Legends, but addressing these behaviors is not an easy task. Many players wonder why Riot Games hasn’t taken stronger action against toxic players. The reason, as explained by a Reddit user, lies in the difficulty of detecting such behavior without mistakenly punishing innocent players.
Riot Haunted Fork, a developer at Riot Games, acknowledged this challenge and agreed that feeding and trolling should be grounds for permanent bans. However, finding a reliable system to identify and punish these behaviors remains a significant obstacle.
For those unfamiliar with the terms, feeding refers to intentionally giving the enemy team an advantage by repeatedly dying. Trolling encompasses a broader range of intentional actions aimed at hindering one’s own team, such as refusing to participate in fights, stealing farm from carries, or ignoring ganks and skirmishes due to personal frustration.
In an effort to address these issues, Riot Games is implementing stricter measures that will temporarily remove trolls and griefers from the ranked queue for five games. This timeout aims to encourage players to regain trust and improve their behavior before returning to the Summoner’s Rift.
While these changes may slightly improve the overall state of the game, Riot Games still faces the challenge of finding a comprehensive solution to combat toxic behavior and create a healthier gaming environment in League of Legends.
