After more than two decades, F-Zero fans can finally rejoice as Nintendo has announced the release of F-Zero 99 during the Sept. 14 Nintendo Direct. This highly anticipated game brings back the beloved franchise with a battle royale twist, offering an enhanced version of the original 1990 gameplay.
F-Zero 99 takes the adrenaline-pumping racing experience to a whole new level with updated visuals and exciting gameplay features. Players will have the opportunity to choose their racing machine from a roster of classic pilots and compete against 99 other competitors on treacherous tracks.
This release marks the first installment in the series since Sega collaborated with Nintendo for F-Zero GX on the GameCube back in July 2003. The best part? F-Zero 99 is available as a free download exclusively for active Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, and it will be live later today.
