If you’ve been playing Destiny 2 recently, you’ve probably noticed an increase in overpowered weapons and exploits. Bungie had planned to fix this issue today, but they have now extended the timeline for the fix.
The glitch allows players to mix weapon perks and frames when crafting, resulting in weapons with combinations that were not intended. For example, players have been able to make the Ammit AR-2 fire like a shotgun. This has led to raid bosses being easily defeated and easier content becoming a breeze.
Bungie had a two-part plan to fix the issue. The first part was supposed to prevent players from equipping crafted weapons, but this has been delayed due to the complexity of the problem. The second part involves removing weapons with “illegal” components.
While some players are enjoying the chaos caused by the glitch, others are upset that it devalues the achievements of completing difficult content. Trials of Osiris, a competitive PvP mode, has become overrun with players using illegal weapons.
Bungie has reassured players that they will not be punished for using the glitch, as it is their responsibility to fix these issues. However, they have not provided a new timeline for when the fix will be implemented.
To stay updated on the progress of the fix, players can follow Bungie’s social channels, such as the BungieHelp Twitter account and the Destiny 2 dev team’s profile.
