Get a Kanto Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC without throwing a Poké Ball

superadmin

In the new DLC Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask, players can now obtain a Kanto Pokémon without even needing to catch it. By breeding a Paldean version of Tauros on the island of Kitakami, players can obtain the original Kanto variant, which is not available in the Kitakami Pokédex.

This secret was discovered by fans who quickly shared it on Reddit and Serebii.net. As of September 17, the only way to obtain the Kanto variant of Tauros is by breeding it on the DLC island of Kitakami.

In Scarlet and Violet, players are limited to Pokémon local to the region of Paldea, except during Tera Raid Battles or Mystery Gifts. Breeding a Tauros on Kitakami allows players to bypass this restriction and obtain the desired Kanto variant.

Previously, similar opportunities were available in other Pokémon games, such as Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, where players could visit different regions and obtain different regional variants of Pokémon. However, this DLC for Scarlet and Violet offers a unique chance to collect even more Pokémon without directly moving between regions.

Players who have already bred Tauros in Scarlet and Violet know the challenges of obtaining the desired form, as there are three different Paldean variants. However, by hatching a Tauros egg while exploring Kitakami, players will always receive the Normal-type version of Tauros, without the need for an Everstone.

This secret adds an exciting element to the game and provides clever players with an easy way to expand their Pokémon collection. With the new DLC, players can now breed non-Paldean versions of their favorite Pokémon and obtain exclusive variants that are not available in the Paldean region.
