Briar, the newest addition to the League of Legends roster, has brought a unique and exciting gameplay experience for players. Despite her risky playstyle, players are thoroughly enjoying her and finding her incredibly fun to play.
A Reddit post on Sept. 17 gathered players who expressed their love for Briar’s “cannonball” gameplay. Her ultimate ability requires players to launch themselves into the enemy team, entering a frenzy until they manage to secure a kill.
The author of the post stated, “I’m so excited to see people cannonball into the backline and get vaporized on the spot. The champ is just so goofy, and if you engage at the wrong time, you are going to realize it immediately.”
Other players in the comments agreed, highlighting how fun it is to play Briar because someone is bound to die every time she engages, leading to hilarious moments. Even if Briar ends up being the one who dies, it adds to the enjoyment of playing her.
Since her release on Sept. 13, Briar has received hotfixes to improve her win rate and effectiveness on the Summoner’s Rift. Initially, her win rate was extremely low at 35.81 percent, but it has slightly improved. Currently, she ranks as the second-worst jungler with a 43.90 percent win rate across all ranks, performing better than the champion released before her, Naafiri, according to U.GG.
However, it’s important to remember that every new champion needs time to adjust to the game and the current meta. Briar is no exception, and with time, players will likely find better strategies and ways to utilize her kit effectively. Despite her all-or-nothing playstyle, it’s heartwarming to see League players having a blast with Briar.
