Disney Dreamlight Valley introduced the community-based feature DreamSnaps on July 19, 2023. This addition has been met with great enthusiasm from players, as it provides them with regular weekly challenges and a reliable way to earn the game’s premium currency, Moonstones. However, players have already come up with some impressive suggestions for improvement.
One player proposed the implementation of a DreamSnaps album or scrapbook that would log all players’ weekly submissions. This would serve as a memento in the game, allowing players to look back at their past submissions and compare them to the scores they received. This feature would not only provide a sense of nostalgia but also enable players to learn from their previous entries and improve their skills.
Currently, DreamSnaps submissions are not saved automatically unless players manually save a copy to their devices. This can be a complex process, especially on platforms like Nintendo Switch. Many players forget to save their submissions due to their focus on entering the competition. Consequently, they lose the opportunity to review their entries after receiving their scores the following week.
Another player expressed agreement with the suggestion for a photo album feature, as they also frequently forget to save their submissions. They find this oversight irritating because they prefer to keep a copy of each entry for future reference and self-evaluation.
In addition to serving as a memento, an album feature would greatly assist players in understanding the voting system. Sometimes, players feel confident in their submissions, only to discover that they performed poorly in the competition, and vice versa. By being able to review their past entries, players could gain insights into the voting system and make more informed decisions for future challenges.
Another fan suggested a feature that would allow all players to view the top DreamSnaps submissions each week. This feature would provide inspiration and allow players to see what is performing well without creating excessive competition among participants.
Furthermore, a Reddit user proposed the ability to display DreamSnap submissions and general photos taken in the valley on memory frames and televisions. While there are already assets like the Memory Frame and Memory Display Partition that can showcase memories from the collection page, players would appreciate the opportunity to display their own photos, including those submitted for DreamSnaps.
On the Disney Dreamlight Valley Discord, players have also shared their ideas for improvement. These include the ability to save multiple entries before selecting the best one for submission, additional poses and poses with items like umbrellas or tools to enhance creative options, exclusive rewards for entering challenges instead of duplicate assets, more photo filters, an easier way to pose with multiple Disney characters, and the ability to use custom Touch of Magic assets in challenges.
While these suggestions are currently player ideas, they hold great potential for future implementation as the DreamSnaps feature continues to evolve. It is possible that we may see these features arrive in Disney Dreamlight Valley in the near future.
