Players Call for Change in Flashbang Effects in Counter-Strike 2

superadmin

The Counter-Strike community is pushing for a revamp of the blinding flashbangs in the game, suggesting that the upcoming Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) is the perfect opportunity for this change. Instead of the current white screen induced by the flashbang grenade, players are proposing a switch to a pitch-black screen. This alteration would be optional, allowing players to choose between the traditional white screen and the less intense black screen.

In a Reddit thread on September 18, members of the CS community also suggested the addition of a grey flashbang screen as an alternative option. This would provide players with more choices if the white screen proves too glaring. Interestingly, other games like BattleBit: Remastered already offer a darkened screen option for flashbang effects, making the absence of this feature in CS all the more puzzling.

Furthermore, players have expressed their desire for a change in the audio effect accompanying flashbangs. Currently, the flashbangs in CS produce a high-pitched ringing sound, which some players find bothersome. To address this, the community proposes muting the audio instead, achieving the same effect without the discomfort. This adjustment could also benefit players with conditions like tinnitus.

Valve, the developer of CS, has been regularly releasing updates for CS2, with three separate updates just last week. As CS2 is still in beta, there is a possibility that Valve may take note of these suggestions and implement changes to flashbang effects before the game’s full release.

Overall, the CS community is eager for a transformation in flashbang effects in CS2, advocating for a switch from the white screen to a black or grey screen option. They also hope for a modification in the accompanying audio to improve the gameplay experience for all players.
