VALORANT Patch 7.06: Combatting Botting and Smurfing

superadmin

The latest patch for VALORANT Episode Seven, Act Two is here, and it brings some important changes to the game. Patch 7.06 introduces a competitive update to tackle botting and smurfing issues, along with UI and gameplay system updates, new voice lines for Sage, and bug fixes.

What’s Included in VALORANT Patch 7.06?

One of the major updates in this patch is the introduction of restrictions for Ascendant players. They will no longer be able to queue with players below Platinum, even in five-stack parties. This change aims to combat the growing problem of account sellers using bots to level up new accounts and sell them to smurfs. It also discourages high-Elo players from queuing with low-Elo players to get easier lobbies or boost their friends’ ranks. Riot Games will actively monitor and punish any botting abuse.

Sage, the healer agent, is receiving new voice lines in this patch. These dialogues include interactions with various agents such as Jett, Deadlock, Chamber, Astra, Brimstone, Gekko, and more. One of the voice lines even references the popular “Jett, Revive me” meme.

Riot has made improvements to the loading of in-game accessories like gun buddies and weapon skins, reducing load times. This change will be implemented mid-patch. Additionally, the Combat Reports feature has received backend updates to fix instances where all the correct information wasn’t displayed.

Bug fixes included in VALORANT Patch 7.06:

  • Fixed a rare bug where you would be unintentionally revealed in certain areas after purchasing a weapon.
  • Fixed an issue where the Spike plant and defuse UI bar did not appear for minimal HUD observers.
  • Fixed a bug where vision cones would flicker at the start of a round on Sunset.
