When professional players compete in any game, they possess an incredible ability to effortlessly execute high-level and challenging feats. This is particularly evident in VALORANT, where even seemingly foolish plays can turn out to be brilliant.
Zachary “zekken” Patrone, a duelist and entry specialist for Sentinels, is widely regarded as one of the game’s most exceptional players. With his remarkable mechanical skills and a unique blend of ability and confidence, he consistently secures entry kills and creates space for his team. At just 18 years old, his potential for growth is immense.
While zekken is primarily known for his prowess on Raze and Jett, he has also proven himself as a skilled initiator, frequently playing Sova and KAY/O during his time with XSET. In a recent ranked match on Ascent, he found himself in a critical attack round with only his ultimate ability remaining. What followed was a display of pure instinct.
Approaching from Catwalk and then A Short, zekken encountered an opponent wielding a Vandal. Without hesitation, he began hopping through Tree room, the A Short Door, around Generator, and all the way to the boxes leading to Heaven, all while brandishing his knife. He even hopped past a Fade player concealed in smoke, who fired six shots from a Judge but failed to land a single hit. Astonishingly, zekken reached the boxes unscathed, swiftly eliminating two enemies with headshots. He then proceeded through Window, leaped into Garden, and secured the final kill on an unsuspecting Brimstone, securing a flawless round victory.
Even by the standards of professional players, zekken made this seemingly reckless move appear far too effortless. However, it is worth noting that his success was aided by a Fade player who missed every shot, failed to communicate zekken’s presence to their Sage, and seemingly forgot about his presence altogether. At the end of the clip, zekken can be heard stifling a laugh at the absurdity of the situation.
Is entrying really this easy? No. But if a play like this can work in the games of one of the world’s best players, it might be worth attempting in your own Silver matches.
