Fans eagerly await the release of Modern Warfare 3, especially for the revamped Zombies mode, offering an exciting “open-world experience” where players will battle the undead threat.
Treyarch and Sledgehammer Games have unveiled a cinematic trailer and shared details about the game mode in a blog post. The trailer showcases a group of mercenaries led by Viktor Zakhaev, who stumble upon two vials of a dangerous substance called Aetherium. Chaos ensues as the vials break, unleashing a purple fog that turns both the living and the dead into zombies.
The mission, Operation Deadbolt, compels Task Force 141 to investigate the incident and uncover the truth behind it.
In this version of Zombies, players can expect unique features. It offers an open-world player-versus-environment (PvE) experience, where squads of operators collaborate to combat zombies and other enemies.
During the game, squads must complete multi-stage tasks to prevent Zakhaev and the Terminus mercenary faction from obtaining more resources. They must also fend off the relentless zombie threat, which intensifies as new regions are unlocked. Additionally, there are special story missions to undertake.
To celebrate the return of Zombies and reward pre-ordering players, CoD is offering the Zombie Ghost operator skin as a bonus. This skin can be used in MW2 and Warzone starting from September 27th and will carry over to MW3 upon its release on November 10th.
