Valve is set to release this year’s version of The International Compendium in the coming week, along with other community-based announcements for their return to Seattle. The Compendium’s return was hinted at in a recent blog post, which also mentioned that tickets for the Road to the International are now sold out. Only a limited number of tickets remain for the playoffs weekend.
Valve will also be opening a page for TI12 pubstomp signups. These live viewing parties for Dota 2 fans who can’t attend the tournament in person will be officially recognized by Valve. The company plans to cross live to selected pubstomps during TI matchdays, enhancing the community aspect of the broadcast.
Valve made the decision to change their approach to side content for this year’s version of The International, despite the success of the Battle Pass in previous years. Instead, they have decided to bring back the Compendium, which was first introduced in 2013. The Compendium provides updated resources and information about The International within the Dota client, aiming to generate excitement for the tournament and increase the prize pool.
While players are concerned about whether the Compendium will fill the void left by the absence of the Battle Pass, we will have to wait until next week to find out what it will include. The pre-TI12 Dota 2 patch is expected on Thursday, and there are rumors of Counter-Strike 2’s release on Wednesday, making it an exciting week for Valve.
