Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Remaster Locked at 30 FPS, Fans Disappointed

superadmin

Konami’s highly anticipated Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection is set to release on October 24, but a recent detail has left fans disappointed. The remaster of the original Metal Gear Solid game will be locked at 30 frames per second (FPS), despite being available on modern consoles.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection will be released in two volumes, with the first volume launching on October 24 for both last-gen and modern consoles. The collection includes Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, both running at 60 FPS on all consoles except the Nintendo Switch. However, the original Metal Gear Solid game will only run at 30 FPS on all platforms.

This news has disappointed many fans who were expecting the remastered version to run at a higher frame rate. Most remasters and remakes take advantage of improved technology to offer higher frame rates and better visual fidelity. Unfortunately, this is not the case with Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection. Additionally, none of the games in the collection will run at 4K resolution, which was another hope for fans.

It’s important to note that Konami’s website mentions that certain factors, such as large amounts of effects during gameplay or cutscenes, may cause frame rate drops. This means that the frame rate may occasionally dip depending on the specific section being played.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The first volume includes Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, which reportedly leaked in June, is said to feature Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. However, Konami has not yet commented on this leak.

While the capped frame rate may disappoint some fans, it remains to be seen how it will impact the overall experience of the game when it launches next month.
