Get ready for a game-changing online competition in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet! The upcoming Kitakami Prologue competition, taking place from Oct. 6 to 8, will introduce Pokémon from The Teal Mask DLC into the mix. This means a whole new meta and exciting battles await trainers.
Unlike previous competitions, the Kitakami Prologue will utilize the Kitakami Pokédex in a double battle format. This means that certain Pokémon from the base games, such as the Paradox Pokémon and four Treasures of Ruin, will not be legal in this competition. Additionally, transfer-only Pokémon like Urshifu, Tornadus, and Heatran will also be unavailable.
However, trainers will have the opportunity to showcase two new powerful Pokémon for the first time: Bloodmoon Ursaluna and the Legendary Ogerpon. Bloodmoon Ursaluna’s standard form has already proven to be a formidable threat, and its new form has the potential to shake up the competition. Ogerpon, on the other hand, offers four different forms that can fit various team compositions, with Hearthflame Ogerpon showing great promise according to VGC players. Other DLC Pokémon like Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti may also make their mark in the competition.
Registration for the Kitakami Prologue competition will be open from Oct. 2 to 8, with battles commencing on Oct. 6. It’s important to note that the rules for this online competition may differ from in-person tournaments.
In addition to the Kitakami Prologue, VGC ranked battles and tournaments will transition to Regulation E around the same time. This update will include all DLC Pokémon in the format starting Oct. 1.
Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to test your skills and discover new strategies in the Kitakami Prologue online competition. Register now and get ready for intense battles in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet!
