As the Harbingers Collection event continues in Apex Legends, players are discovering new and ingenious ways to utilize the Rev Shell. This time, they have combined it with Mad Maggie’s Riot Drill to create a truly terrifying weapon.
The Rev Shell is a homing grenade that can be shot down by enemies. Last week, players found a way to use it with Pathfinder’s grapple, and now they are exploring other possibilities for this grenade.
A video shared on Reddit on September 21 showcases a player using the Rev Shell and then firing Maggie’s Riot Drill at it. The grenade locks onto an enemy and inflicts continuous damage, breaking their shield and leaving them vulnerable for a follow-up attack.
Riot Drill is Mad Maggie’s tactical ability, which fires a drill that attaches to an obstacle and burns enemies on the other side within a range of approximately 5 meters. This turns the grenade into a mobile flamethrower with autopilot, creating a truly terrifying weapon.
The Apex Legends community is amazed by this combination, with players discussing what other items could potentially be attached to the Rev Shell. Some speculate if it uses similar code to Crypto’s old drone, where various objects could be placed on it.
While the exact code is unknown, the behavior of the Rev Shell appears to be similar. It seems that with precise timing, almost any deployable item can be attached to it.
So far, no one has managed to attach Rampart’s turret to the Rev Shell, but it wouldn’t be surprising if someone figures out how to do it. There is still time to discover more destructive possibilities with the Rev Shell, as the Harbinger Collection event concludes on October 3, 2023.
