Despite the imminent release of CS2, the majority of the world’s top CS:GO teams are still focusing on practicing and competing in CS:GO. According to a recent survey conducted by HLTV, only a handful of teams are currently testing the waters in CS2.
Teams Practicing on CS2 | Teams Practicing on CS:GO |
---|---|
Vitality | ENCE |
Ninjas in Pyjamas | G2 |
GamerLegion | Heroic |
Monte | FaZe Clan |
Vitality, currently ranked as the best CS:GO team in the world, may be looking to maintain their dominance when the esports scene transitions to CS2. On the other hand, Ninjas in Pyjamas, who have had lackluster performances in recent tournaments, could benefit from focusing on CS2 ahead of time. This strategy has proven successful for them in the past when they achieved a remarkable winning streak in CS:GO.
However, the remaining teams, including ENCE, G2, Heroic, FaZe Clan, and many others, are still dedicated to practicing and competing in CS:GO. This aligns with what s1mple, a prominent player from Natus Vincere, mentioned in a recent interview. He emphasized that CS:GO results still matter and that players are continuing to practice and participate in boot camps for CS:GO tournaments.
While the release date of CS2 remains uncertain, it is unclear when top-tier tournaments will fully transition from CS:GO to CS2. Notable upcoming events such as IEM Sydney in October and the Asia Championships in November are still scheduled for CS:GO.
