The Pokémon x Van Gogh collaboration has officially launched as part of the Amsterdam museum’s 50th anniversary celebration. From Sept. 28 to Jan. 7, visitors can enjoy a display of Pokémon paintings inspired by classic Van Gogh works. Alongside the artwork, a range of products, including a special Promo Pikachu card, are being released as part of this collaboration.
At the museum, you can admire Pokémon paintings such as a Pikachu inspired by Van Gogh’s ‘Self-Portrait with Grey Felt Hat’ and Munchlax & Snorlax inspired by ‘The Bedroom.’ Additionally, there are educational lessons available online that explore the connection between Van Gogh and Japan, including one specifically about Pokémon.
To enhance the experience, a special Pokémon Adventure activity is available for visitors. This activity allows you to learn about the inspired pieces and collect the exclusive Pokémon x Van Gogh: Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat promo card.
Museum director Emilie Gordenker expressed excitement about this collaboration, stating that it offers a refreshing way for the next generation to appreciate Vincent van Gogh’s art and life story. The Van Gogh Museum and The Pokémon Company International have combined their educational expertise to create a unique experience for children, their supervisors, and all visitors at the museum.
For those unable to attend the exhibit, many of the collaborative products will be available for purchase on the Pokémon Center website. However, it is unclear which products will be exclusive to the museum. The collection includes a Van Gogh-inspired Pikachu plush, figures for Pikachu and Eevee, TCG Sleeves, poster prints, a puzzle, and more. The full lineup of goods will be revealed once the listings go live on Sept. 28.
As a bonus, customers who purchase any product from the Pokémon x Van Gogh collection will receive a Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat promo card with their order, while supplies last.
