Blizzard recently introduced a feature in World of Warcraft that allows players to skip content in the Siege of Orgrimmar raid for more efficient farming. However, this well-intentioned addition has resulted in a game-crashing bug affecting every player who uses it.
Players on the official WoW subreddit have reported that the new skip added to the raid causes their game to crash whenever they attempt to use it. Clicking on the scroll next to Lorewalker Cho triggers the crash, leading to being booted to the login screen before reconnecting and appearing in front of the final boss. This bug occurs consistently for all players since the skip was introduced.
The Siege of Orgrimmar raid is known for its rare mounts and items, such as the Kor’kron Juggernaut mount and the Tusks of Mannoroth shoulderguards, both dropped by the final boss, Garrosh Hellscream. While these rewards are highly sought after, reaching Garrosh can be a tedious process due to the raid’s 14-boss length, the longest in WoW.
In Patch 10.1.5, Blizzard implemented a skip in Siege of Orgrimmar that allows players to bypass the first 13 bosses and head directly to Garrosh, but only if they have already cleared the raid on that character. Although this skip offers convenience, the need to log into the game every time it is attempted becomes frustrating.
Many players, including myself, have encountered this bug repeatedly while farming Siege of Orgrimmar in recent months. It is likely that Blizzard is aware of the issue and will address it in a future patch.
