Overwatch 2 players experienced issues with receiving credits from completed Anniversary missions during the game’s first Anniversary Event. However, Blizzard has announced that players will be compensated with 3,000 credits at the beginning of Season Seven. This compensation will be given to all players who log in for the start of the season, not just those who missed out on the Anniversary challenges.
The issues with credit rewards were initially addressed by Blizzard in a forum post, where they promised to compensate impacted players once the issue was resolved. However, it has now been confirmed that all OW2 players who log in during the first week of Season Seven will receive 3,000 credits for free.
While the compensation is a positive outcome for affected players, it adds to the frustrations that Overwatch fans have been experiencing since the game’s release. Alongside ongoing meta issues, the Anniversary Event has sparked reflections on the game’s first-year anniversary.
The Anniversary Event, which runs until Oct. 16, is highly anticipated by Overwatch’s fanbase. It celebrates the game’s launch in 2016 and this year is particularly special as it marks the first anniversary of Overwatch 2. The event offers a range of exclusive skins and cosmetics, some of which are only available during this time.
Despite the delay in receiving credits from Anniversary challenges, players still have time to acquire their desired Anniversary skins if they have planned their finances accordingly. Season Seven, which begins on Oct. 10, is expected to bring balance changes rather than major content releases such as new heroes or maps.
