Call of Duty Season Six Extended Until Modern Warfare 3 Launches

Derek Morgan

There has been confusion regarding the seasonal content transition between Call of Duty titles, specifically between the current game, Modern Warfare 2, and the upcoming release, Modern Warfare 3, set to launch on November 10.

Players logging into Modern Warfare 2 for Season Six noticed a countdown timer indicating the end of the final seasonal content drop in 2022’s game. However, this countdown is actually teasing the MW3 beta, which will be available next week.

To clarify, Activision has confirmed that Season Six will continue until the launch of MW3’s Season One, which is expected to occur later this year, likely in early December based on previous game releases.

During the initial weeks after MW3’s launch, all XP earned in the game will count towards the Season Six Battle Pass in MW2. This is great news for players looking to rank up their pass and unlock Season Six’s tier 100 skin for Spawn.

Activision has stated that more information about Season One will be provided in the coming months, suggesting that communication regarding seasonal content will be limited following MW3’s release. This will allow players to focus on the multiplayer and Zombies modes in MW3 while eagerly awaiting the new Warzone map and Season One content.

In the meantime, players can continue to progress through MW2’s Battle Pass and unlock various rewards that will carry over into MW3. This is a positive outcome for everyone involved.

Season Six of MW2 offers exciting content, including operator skins inspired by Spawn and his adversaries, three new weapons, and The Haunting seasonal event, scheduled to launch on October 17.

MW3 is set to launch on November 10, with Season One likely beginning around a month later, potentially on December 13.
