Samoa Map Revealed for Overwatch 2 Season 7

Xavier Ward

The highly anticipated new map for Overwatch 2, Samoa, was unveiled in a thrilling showmatch between analysts, casters, content creators, and Canadian OWL players. Set to be released on October 10th alongside Season 7, this Control map offers players a vibrant and chaotic gaming experience.

Similar to other Control maps, Samoa features three different points for players to battle over. However, unlike the icy Antarctic Peninsula, Samoa is a sunny and hot location, providing a refreshing change of scenery.

The first point on Samoa, reminiscent of Oasis’ City Center, offers players numerous high grounds and ranged options to strategically control the point. The third section, similar to Busan’s MEKA Base, presents a perilous area where players can knock their opponents off the edge to secure victory.

With its mix of futuristic and natural elements, Samoa’s design is reminiscent of Numbani, featuring tall glass buildings and lush greenery. The map showcases unique chokepoints and areas that players will need to master to succeed.

While the showmatch may not have displayed the best plays, standout performances from players like Crimzo and Danteh highlighted the potential of the new map. Fans can look forward to exploring Samoa and discovering its intricacies when it becomes available on October 10th.
