A player’s creative solution to the “content drought” in Final Fantasy XIV has gained attention. The idea suggests adding a new feature in Patch 6.5 that allows players to engage in romances with certain characters from the Main Story Quest. This addition would provide players with glamours, dialogues, and quests, as well as the opportunity to have these characters join their island sanctuary and house.
The suggestion received an overwhelmingly positive response from players, who eagerly shared their thoughts on which characters they would romance first. Many players expressed their enthusiasm for the idea, highlighting the potential for increased playtime without requiring significant effort from the developers. One comment humorously remarked, “Drought, yes, but what about Thirst?”
While Final Fantasy XIV has been releasing content updates to keep players engaged, some have voiced their impatience with the current post-expansion content. Streamer Zepla criticized the lack of diversity in the content, particularly pointing out the underwhelming Relic Weapon farming quests, absence of a dedicated farming area, and the lack of mid-difficulty content to complete. This has led to a sense of anticipation for the upcoming expansion, Dawntrail, set to release in summer 2024.
Despite the slow pace of content releases, October will mark a peak in activity for the game. The last major update before the release of the next expansion is scheduled for October 4th, following a lengthy maintenance period.
