During the recent Out to Play event, Pokémon Go players were promised an increased spawning of Kecleons at PokéStops. However, many players were left disappointed as they struggled to find any of these elusive creatures.
In a Reddit thread on October 3rd, players expressed their frustration at the lack of Kecleons on their routes, despite the event announcement claiming there would be more of them. Despite frequently checking routes and visiting PokéStops, some players only encountered Kecleons once or twice, while others didn’t see any at all. This was particularly confusing as other promised bonuses, such as increased XP gain and more Growlithes, Eevees, and Woobats, were present.
Most players reported never seeing any Kecleons during the six-day event, even though they visited PokéStops multiple times a day. It seems that this issue was not limited to a specific region, as Pokémon Go players from different continents experienced the same problem.
The camouflaging abilities and almost invisible appearance of Kecleons make them notoriously difficult to spot. It is unclear whether this lack of Kecleons during the event was intentional or an error on the part of Niantic. Regardless, players are seeking an explanation for the discrepancy between the promised increase in Kecleon spawns and the reality they experienced.
