Bungie Faces Lawsuit for Wrongful Termination Amid Racial Discrimination Allegations

Bungie, the creators of Halo and developers of Destiny 2 and Marathon, is being sued by a former HR manager who claims she was fired for reporting racial discrimination. Ingrid Alm alleges that she was forced out of her job after investigating a case of racial bias and facing retaliatory actions from the company.

The lawsuit states that Alm was instructed to investigate the performance of an employee who had complained about being racially targeted by their supervisor. Despite recommending diversity training for the supervisor, Bungie allegedly wanted to terminate the employee. Alm sought advice from Bungie’s director of equity and inclusion, but faced backlash from her supervisor and received a poor performance review.

In September 2022, Alm was informed that her resignation had been accepted, despite her desire to keep her job. She claims that her access to company platforms was cut off, and her attempts to contact supervisors were ignored.

Bungie has denied most of Alm’s allegations. It is worth noting that Alm was hired after a report on Bungie’s toxic work culture, which featured numerous employees speaking out about the company’s environment.
