Their 3-1 victory not only secured their place in the VALORANT Game Changers World Championship in São Paulo, Brazil, but also ended Version1’s reign as the queens of North American VALORANT.
Evil Geniuses made history by eliminating Shopify Rebellion from the Grand Finals for the first time in Game Changers history. This achievement was particularly special for team veterans Lorrian “Lorri” Elad and Melisa “Theia” Mundorff, who had faced uncertainty after being dropped from the SR squad in September.
Lorri, who had been a core member for the past two years, joined the EG team just a week before the qualifiers began. Despite missing practice due to attending a wedding, her extensive experience competing against Version1’s core players, meL and Alexis Guarrasi, played a crucial role in EG’s remarkable journey. This victory also marks Lorri’s second appearance in the Game Changers World Championship, leaving her former team behind.
As for Theia, she may be new to captaining on the server, but her FPS experience predates VALORANT. Starting in CS:GO at the age of 15, she eventually signed with Dignitas Female and later transitioned to VALORANT with the organization. This historic run as EG’s captain has proven her capabilities in leading a team.
EG, along with Lorri and Theia, will have the opportunity to showcase their skills at the 2023 VALORANT Game Changers World Championship starting on November 28. They will enter as North America’s second seed, with Version1’s strong performances throughout the 2023 circuit securing them the top spot.
