Counter-Strike 2 is riddled with bugs that require immediate attention, especially with the upcoming transition of the esports scene to the game. On October 9th, a prominent community figure, ThourCS, highlighted another bug that allows players to obtain free armor using a specific command.
In a video demonstration, ThourCS showcased how players can exploit this bug by purchasing body armor, followed by head armor, and then using the “refundall” command. This command refunds both armors but retains the body armor, essentially granting players $650 worth of armor for free if they have $1,000 in their inventory.
To execute this bug, it is recommended to bind the lengthy “refundall” command to a specific key on the keyboard for easier abuse.
However, this bug poses a significant issue as it provides an unfair advantage to exploiting players in matchmaking. It is expected that Valve, the developers of CS2, will promptly release a fix to address this problem.
Regrettably, this is not the only prevalent issue in CS2 at the moment. Players recently discovered a major hitbox bug where bomb planters cannot be killed despite aiming directly at them. The community has been investigating the game’s hitboxes and has realized that they do not accurately align with players’ models.
These problems are particularly concerning considering the imminent start of the first tier one CS2 tournament, IEM Sydney 2023, scheduled for October 16th. Valve has a mere seven days to resolve these game-breaking issues.
