Cheating Remains a Major Issue in Counter-Strike 2 Community

Derek Morgan

Cheaters continue to plague the Counter-Strike 2 community, causing frustration and disruption among players. A recent incident highlighted the problem when an enemy player shared a working link to their hacks during a match.

In the game on Anubis, the T side players pleaded with a player named hines to stop cheating. Shockingly, the CT player not only refused to stop but also shared a link to the wallhack they were using. The clip recorded by another player showed that the link, when opened on a second monitor, revealed the real-time positions of all five Terrorists.

While it may seem tempting to follow such a link, it is strongly advised against doing so. The link’s suspicious name, “kiddyboxer,” suggests that it could potentially be a virus or some form of malicious software.

This incident serves as a reminder of the widespread cheating issues in CS2. Since the game’s release on September 27, players have been providing feedback to Valve regarding various problems, including fps drops, bugged hitboxes, and even the ability to acquire certain items for free. While all these issues are significant and should be addressed, cheating remains a persistent problem.

With the first tier one CS2 tournament, IEM Sydney 2023, scheduled to begin on October 16, the developers have a lot of work ahead of them to resolve these issues. Many professionals believe that the game is not yet ready for competitive play. However, some argue that forcing pros to play it is the best way to expose and address its problems.
