Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3’s highly anticipated release is still a month away, but the beta version is already causing frustration among players. The beta, exclusive to PlayStation consoles, has been marred by reports of cheaters and glitch abusers, leaving the gaming community unhappy.
One Reddit user, u/kingbkny, shared a video showcasing a wall glitch that allowed an enemy to shoot through the ground, resulting in an unfair death. This incident, captured from the Kill Cam perspective, highlights the extent of the problem.
Unfortunately, this is not an isolated case. Since the beta weekend for PlayStation 4 and 5 began on October 8, numerous complaints about cheating in Modern Warfare 3 have flooded social media platforms like Reddit and Twitter.
While many believe that cheating on PlayStation consoles is difficult, it appears that some players have found ways to exploit the system. Even on the PlayStation 5, cheaters are reportedly ruining the gaming experience. It is disheartening to see individuals invest in expensive Dev Kits and a premium $70 game just to gain an unfair advantage, especially during a beta phase.
The open beta for PC and Xbox will commence on October 12, and the prevalence of cheaters and glitch abusers in the current beta phase raises concerns for the upcoming release. Activision has made efforts to combat cheating in Call of Duty games, including the introduction of RICOCHET, an in-house anti-cheat system for Warzone Pacific. However, completely eradicating the problem remains a challenge.
Despite the ongoing issue, there is hope that Activision and Infinity Ward will address these concerns before the official release. With a month left, they have the opportunity to find effective solutions and minimize the impact of cheaters and glitch abusers. Players are particularly eager to see an end to wall glitches, which have been a major source of frustration.
