Dota 2’s The International 10 champions, Team Spirit, are on a winning streak after their recent victories at the Riyadh Masters 2023 and DreamLeague Season 21. In a podcast interview with Ukrainian caster Aleksey “Storm” Tumanov, Team Spirit’s position four player, Myroslav “Mira” Kolpakov, shared their plans to continue their success at TI12 and match the legendary runs of OG.
Mira expressed his dream for Team Spirit to surpass OG’s accomplishments by becoming the world’s best once again. While the prize pool is not their main concern this year, the team is driven by the desire for achievements and prestige.
However, Mira acknowledges that reaching OG’s level won’t be easy, as there are many talented teams standing in their way. He believes Gaimin Gladiators, the team that dominated the DPC events in 2023, will be their biggest obstacle at TI12.
Despite Gaimin Gladiators’ success, Mira finds it puzzling that they would put extra pressure on themselves by participating in more events like the BetBoom DACHA 2023 so close to TI. He suggests they should take a step back, enjoy their success, and enter TI12 mentally refreshed and fully prepared.
Mira also mentioned cracks forming within Gaimin Gladiators, particularly with their star midlaner, Quinn Callahan. He claims that while it was once difficult to defeat Quinn, it has now become easy to exploit his ego and make him crack in pub games. Nevertheless, Mira still considers Gaimin Gladiators as their toughest opponents at TI12.
With The International 12 just around the corner, taking place from Oct. 12 to Oct. 29, the tournament promises to be an exciting one. Whether a returning champion will emerge or a new wild card will claim the Aegis remains to be seen. Stay tuned for the latest updates on TI12.
