Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 PlayStation Beta Ends, Developer Addresses Feedback

Tim Price

Sledgehammer Games, the developer of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, has concluded the PlayStation-exclusive beta and is already working on implementing changes based on player feedback. The beta will be returning on Thursday, Oct. 12, this time available on PC and Xbox as well, with the addition of the popular map Highrise and a new mode called Cutthroat.

During the first weekend of the beta, players expressed three main concerns, which Sledgehammer Games is actively addressing. These include improving operator visibility, adjusting slide timing, and refining spawn selection. The issue of distinguishing friendly players from enemies was a common complaint, as it was difficult to differentiate between the two. The “slide cancel” technique has also been adjusted due to a delay after completing the slide, affecting the game’s fast-paced movement. Additionally, spawn locations and timing are being fine-tuned to avoid instances of spawning too close to enemy players.

The upcoming crossplay beta for Modern Warfare 3 will begin on Thursday, Oct. 12 for PS5 and PS4 (open beta), and Xbox and PC (early access beta for pre-orders or codes).

Thank you for your attention.
