KAY/O, the robot initiator in VALORANT, has consistently struggled to win at the highest level of ranked play. Despite being a popular and versatile pick, KAY/O has had the worst win rate among all agents in Radiant for over seven months.
Not only has KAY/O been losing, but his performance metrics have also declined. His average K/D, ACS, and pick rate have all steadily decreased. While there has been a slight improvement in his win rate in the current act, he still remains at the bottom, performing worse than even the least favored agents like Harbor and Deadlock.
The reason behind KAY/O’s struggles could be attributed to the high mechanical skill level seen in Radiant. Even though KAY/O can suppress abilities, he and his teammates are still facing off against some of the best aimers in the game. Suppressed abilities may have minimal impact on players with such high mechanical skill.
In comparison, initiators like Sova and Skye are more popular and successful in Radiant due to their ability to provide specific enemy information to their teams, such as exact enemy positions. Sova and Skye have significantly higher pick rates compared to other initiators, with Fade being the next most picked agent after them.
It remains to be seen if KAY/O will receive a buff in the future or if he will continue to be the perennial loser of Radiant.
