A player in Baldur’s Gate 3 has created a custom character resembling Barney the dinosaur, and the result is truly horrifying. While the game doesn’t have dinosaur classes, some players have been eager to bring a scaly hero into the fantasy world of Faerun. However, the Barney Durge character is nightmare fuel, even for those who loved Barney as a child.
The recreation of Barney in BG3 is both unique and terrifying. While video game characters can’t harm us, the appearance of Barney Durge is enough to give anyone nightmares. Fans have jokingly suggested that his abilities would involve hugging you to death or tearing you apart while singing his infamous “I love you” song.
Despite the fear and general consensus among the BG3 fanbase that Barney Durge is terrifying, some players are curious about the romance scenes involving this character. However, most agree that Barney would have made a great Bard in BG3 or Dungeons and Dragons, using his singing and healing abilities to support his allies. Unfortunately, with his current appearance, he would likely have a low Charisma score and be practically useless.
While players are free to create any character they like, the overwhelming opinion is that Barney Durge should be deleted immediately. The combination of childhood nostalgia and horror is simply too much for most players to handle.
