Since its launch in September 2020, Genshin Impact has been gradually expanding its world of Teyvat, allowing players access to different regions. A recent leak on October 12 has revealed the complete map of Teyvat, showcasing areas that have yet to be explored.
The leaked map includes new additions such as a mountainous island north of Fontaine, an expanded area connected to the Anemo region of Mondstadt, a large mountain range northwest of Fontaine, and a desert region west of Sumeru’s Desert of Hadramaveth.
Based on the leaked map, it is speculated that the area north of Fontaine will be the Cryo region of Snezhnaya, which will be the final element-based region players will visit in Chapter VI of the Archon quest. Snezhnaya is ruled by the Cryo Archon Tsaritsa and is home to the Fatui and the infamous Fatui Harbingers.
Mondstadt, the first region in Teyvat, is also expected to expand. The leaked map shows an extension of the Anemo region, located directly above the currently accessible areas. This expansion is anticipated to coincide with the arrival of Varka, a highly anticipated character.
The remaining leaked areas may be part of the Pyro region, known as Natlan. The exact location of Natlan is uncertain, but an NPC in Sumeru mentioned passing through the deserts of Sumeru to reach it, confirming that at least part of Natlan is west of Sumeru. There is also a section west of Fontaine believed to be part of Natlan, but further confirmation is needed in Chapter V of the Archon quest.
The leaked map reveals the vastness of Teyvat, and exploring each region will be a monumental task. However, the impressive landscapes and rich lore make it a worthwhile endeavor for players. While it may take some time before these leaked areas are officially released, the next expansion is expected in the Version 4.2 update, introducing another expansion to Fontaine.
Although players cannot currently explore Snezhnaya, Natlan, or the rumored Mondstadt expansion, they can still enjoy the upcoming content in the Hydro nation of Fontaine when Version 4.2 arrives on November 8.
