Halo Infinite’s Season 5, Reckoning, is off to a strong start with exciting new features like maps, modes, and Forge AI. However, players have recently discovered hidden puzzles within the new Arena map, Forbidden. These secret puzzles have led to the unearthing of a powerful ancient weapon: the golden sandwich.
A community-wide effort to decipher a sequence of symbols carved into the map’s walls has revealed a hidden door that houses the golden sandwich. This discovery has sparked excitement among players, making it the most significant season launch in over a year.
The golden sandwich can only be accessed during a game of Infection and is found on a plinth in an abandoned crypt, illuminated by light. It’s not just a decorative item; players can pick it up and use it as a melee weapon for the rest of the round. The solution to unlocking the door was cracked by Forgers UneeQ and RedNomster, who initially found the sandwich by using teleporters in Forge to gain unauthorized access.
To unlock the door, players must locate and activate seven symbols scattered throughout the map. These symbols are displayed on four walls, with one wall featuring only a few remaining symbols. The seven symbols in the middle of this wall need to be activated in the correct order during an Infection game. One of the symbols is hidden and inaccessible in other game modes, adding an extra layer of challenge.
This Easter egg is a surprising and complex addition to the new Arena map, marking the first time 343 Industries has implemented such a feature in Halo Infinite’s multiplayer. Successfully unlocking the door requires skill and coordination, as players must navigate the map while being pursued by Infected players. However, the reward of witnessing Master Chief wielding a sandwich as a weapon makes it all worthwhile.
The golden sandwich may not be the only secret hidden within Forbidden. With nine interactable symbol pads and four walls filled with symbols, there could be more mysteries waiting to be uncovered as Season 5 progresses.
