Wizards of the Coast Reveals Exciting Magic: The Gathering Fallout Spoilers
Magic: The Gathering fans were treated to an exciting preview stream by Wizards of the Coast, where they dropped nearly 50 spoilers for the upcoming MTG Fallout Commander Precon deck. One of the most anticipated returns is the beloved Energy mechanic, first introduced in Kaladesh. This time, players will receive Energy counters to activate powerful abilities, led by the face commander Dr. Madison Li and her trusty companion Rex, Cyber-Hound.
Dr. Madison Li Takes Center Stage
Dr. Madison Li, the renowned scientist from Fallout 3, is the face commander of the Science! preconstructed Commander deck. With a mana cost of URW, she brings a unique set of abilities to the battlefield. Whenever an Artifact spell is cast, players will gain an Energy counter, allowing them to unleash devastating effects. Dr. Madison Li can tap and spend one Energy counter to grant a target creature +1/+0, Trample, and Haste until the end of the turn. By spending three Energy counters, players can draw a card, and by spending five Energy counters, they can bring back a tapped Artifact card from their graveyard to the battlefield.
Rex, Cyber-Hound Joins the Fray
Rex, the legendary Cyber-Hound from Fallout: New Vegas, is an Artifact creature that complements Dr. Madison Li’s abilities. With a casting cost of 1WU, Rex deals combat damage to a player, causing them to mill two cards and granting the player two Energy counters. These Energy counters can be spent to exile a target creature card from a graveyard, placing a Brain counter on it. Rex also possesses all the activated abilities of cards in exile with Brain counters, making him a formidable ally on the battlefield.
