As CS2 enters its first month, the renowned Counter-Strike star, s1mple, continues to express his dissatisfaction with the game and Valve. Surprisingly, the developers reached out to him this week to discuss his comments.
s1mple claims that he initially ignored their message, sarcastically questioning the issue at hand and suggesting that Valve should consider the opinions of other professional players. He stated during a live stream on October 19th, “They sent me the tweet that I wrote. And they asked what’s the issue. And you know what I did? I never answered them back. How can you ask me what’s the issue when the whole internet is writing about issues?”
In his original tweet, s1mple advised players to avoid CS2 for now and wait for upcoming updates. He even mentioned that if someone aspires to become a CS2 professional, they should give it three months before diving into the game. This tweet caught Valve’s attention, leading them to reach out to s1mple.
Furthermore, s1mple expressed his frustration with the game on Twitter, highlighting that Valve had finally introduced a new tickrate. However, he sarcastically added, “FINALLY. THEY ADD NEW TICKRATE OMG, ITS NOT 64 ANYMORE!! it feels … like 16.” It is evident that the prominent superstar holds genuine grievances against CS2, and it remains to be seen if Valve will take his comments seriously.
Valve’s launch of CS2 faced numerous issues, with professionals and the community voicing their concerns about the game. Recent statistics indicate that CS2 has lost over 10 percent of its player base in just one month. Whether this decline is due to players agreeing with s1mple or simply a decrease in hype surrounding the sequel update is yet to be determined.
