Pokémon Go players can maximize their Halloween event experience with a clever tip that many might overlook. The special event, which started on Oct. 19, offers new content and changes to wild Pokémon spawn rates. While players can encounter more gloomy Pokémon species in the wild, there is an unexpected benefit that can help with other in-game tasks.
A Reddit thread from Oct. 20 shared this valuable tip: “Now’s a good time to buddy your Pancham.” The suggestion quickly gained attention and agreement from fellow players.
Pancham was introduced to Pokémon Go on May 11, 2021. To evolve this Pokémon, players typically need to spend candies, but sometimes additional requirements are added. This Halloween event presents the perfect opportunity to evolve Pancham into Pangoro. Normally, players must spend 50 Pancham candies and catch 32 Dark-type Pokémon while Pancham is their Buddy to trigger the evolution.
The Halloween event increases the spawn rates of Dark types, such as Poochyena, in addition to the highlighted Ghost types. This abundance of Dark Pokémon makes it easier for players to fulfill the requirement of catching 32 Dark types with Pancham as their Buddy.
Players have until Oct. 31 to take advantage of the increased spawn rates and catch more Dark and Ghost-type Pokémon. The event is divided into two parts, each featuring different Pokémon species. Additionally, there are event-themed Timed and Field Research tasks for players to complete.
