League of Legends Pro Player Hans Sama Goes Viral in Korea for K-Pop Idol Transformation

Derek Morgan

League of Legends pro player, Hans Sama, is causing a stir in Korea with his incredible transformation that has caught the attention of K-pop enthusiasts. His new look, featuring a stylish haircut and no glasses, has sparked admiration and excitement among online communities. Fans are not only praising his appearance but also rallying support for his team, G2, in the ongoing Worlds tournament.

The overlap between League of Legends fans and K-pop enthusiasts is significant, given the game’s popularity in Asia, particularly in Korea. The presence of Korean superstar Faker, often considered the greatest League of Legends player of all time, further strengthens this connection. Riot Games has even created virtual K-pop bands featuring their game characters to engage their fan base. T1, a Korean team, is also highly popular in the Western League of Legends scene.

This year’s Worlds tournament is taking place in Seoul and Busan, two major cities in South Korea. Adding to the excitement, the official Worlds anthem features K-pop group NewJeans, marking the first time Riot has collaborated with a K-pop group for their championship kickoff song.

Aside from Hans Sama’s captivating new style, G2 is performing exceptionally well at Worlds. Despite a 0-2 loss to Gen.G Esports, it is worth noting that Gen.G is the only team in the tournament that remains undefeated. G2 has secured victories against formidable opponents, Weibo Gaming and Dplus, in best-of-one Swiss stage matches. While there is still a long way to go in the tournament, Hans Sama’s impressive transformation has already made him a winner, with a positive impact on his team.
