Open Beta for THE FINALS, a Wacky FPS Game Show, Announced

Tim Price

Embark Studios has announced that the open beta for THE FINALS, a Battlefield-inspired FPS game with a game show twist, will run from October 26 to November 5. This cross-platform beta will be available on PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam, offering players a chance to experience the chaotic and fully destructible world of THE FINALS.

In this free-to-play game, players form three-player teams and compete in a race to extract a golden cashbox while facing off against other teams. The game features wacky elements, such as opponents exploding into showers of gold coins when shot. It’s all about fun and entertainment in this game show setting.

During the open beta, players will have access to various maps, including the streets of Monaco and the skyscrapers of downtown Seoul. Additionally, a new map called Skyway Stadium will be introduced, described as an “ever-changing” environment that adds an extra layer of challenge.

THE FINALS offers different classes with unique abilities and loadouts, allowing players to choose their preferred playstyle. For example, one class has a grappling hook that enables skilled players to swing around like a chimpanzee. However, mastering these abilities may take some practice.

The open beta also introduces a new game mode called Bank-It, which is a more traditional Team Deathmatch mode. In this mode, four teams of three players compete to collect the most coins, providing a combat-focused experience.

Players can participate in ranked and unranked tournaments for the standard extraction mode, Cashout. There is also a casual version of Cashout with longer matches, faster respawn timers, faster extraction times, and only one vault at a time.

Furthermore, the open beta includes a battle pass with 16 rewards that can be unlocked and carried over to the full version of THE FINALS when it officially launches later this year. Although the exact release date is yet to be announced, it is expected to be in late 2023.

Don’t miss your chance to join THE FINALS open beta and experience the thrilling and wacky world of this game show-inspired FPS. Sign up now on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Game Store, or Steam and get ready for explosive action and intense competition.
