CS2 Patch Brings Fixes and Updates to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Xavier Ward

The latest CS2 patch for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) has addressed several minor annoyances and made improvements to the game. These changes include fixes to movement and clipping issues on various maps, such as Vertigo, Nuke, Anubis, Inferno, Office, Mirage, and Ancient.

One notable change is the partial removal of the railing on the balcony in Inferno. This alteration allows players exiting the Apartments to have an unobstructed view into Pit, eliminating the risk of bullets hitting the railing. Grenade bouncing and clipping has also been adjusted across all maps in the competitive map pool, making complex jump-throws and bounce shots more reliable.

Furthermore, the patch has addressed visual issues with stickers and weapon finishes, ensuring that they appear as intended. Muzzle flash and HE grenade effects have also been improved to enhance visibility during gameplay.

Overpass has undergone lighting adjustments to improve player model visibility and overall readability. Valve has specifically targeted agent skins on this map to ensure better visibility. Nuke has also received visual changes, including the resolution of a bug where shadows would pass through an unopened Squeaky Door. Additionally, frustrating boosts on Anubis have been fixed.

The most significant changes in the patch are related to movement and clipping. These adjustments aim to address the “stickiness” players experience when running near teammates or walls. While CS2 has introduced many positive elements to the game, inconsistent movement has been a major concern for both veteran and new players. Although there are still unresolved issues with sub-tick servers and the absence of community maps, the movement and clipping changes should help alleviate some of the frustrations among the player base.
