Brace yourself for a terrifying Halloween surprise in Apex Legends Season 19 as the beloved Wingman revolver is being relocated to the care package. Respawn Entertainment recently confirmed this change, along with the return of the L-Star to floor loot. This marks the first time the Wingman will be found exclusively in care packages instead of on the ground.
The Wingman has been a fan-favorite weapon since the game’s inception due to its unique design and deadly effectiveness. Respawn has made various adjustments to the Wingman over time, such as reducing its magazine size and changing its ammo type to sniper rounds.
In Season 19, players will need to search the skies or enemy death boxes to acquire the Wingman, as it will no longer be available as regular loot. However, this move to the care package comes with an expected boost in its firepower. Game designer John Larson hinted at increased damage, the introduction of the Boosted Loader hop-up, and modifications to the Skullpiercer Elite attachment, making the Wingman even more formidable.
Alongside the Wingman’s relocation, other weapons will also undergo changes in their availability. The 30-30 Repeater and RE-45 will return to ground loot, while the R-301 and Volt SMG will become craftable items. Although players will have the option to craft these weapons, they may opt for better alternatives if available.
Additionally, the x1 Digital Threat sight will no longer be obtainable through crafting and will instead be found as a gold drop in the regular loot pool. This change aims to balance the rarity of the Digital Threat sight, as it was becoming too easily accessible through crafting.
A significant game-wide change in Season 19 is that care packages will always contain at least one weapon, regardless of the stage of the game. This alteration aims to make care packages more enticing and encourage players to be vigilant when an enemy opens one nearby.
Lastly, the Boosted Loader hop-up will be removed from the pool, and the Turbocharger will no longer have its damage nerf from Season 15. Respawn wants players to never have to question whether a weapon is better with or without a hop-up attachment.
Get ready to embark on the hunt for the elusive red Wingman in care packages when Apex Legends Season 19, Ignite, launches on October 31st.
