KT Rolster pulled off a stunning upset against Dplus KIA in the League of Legends Worlds Swiss stage, securing a 2-0 victory and ending DK’s hopes of a reverse sweep. Despite DK’s strong start, KT managed to turn the tide with a crucial team fight and secured the win in both matches.
In the first game, DK took an early lead with Showmaker’s Neeko, but KT stayed in the game thanks to Bdd and Aiming’s efficient farming. A decisive team fight at the 25-minute mark turned the tables in KT’s favor, as they aced DK and secured the win. In the second game, KT dominated with a stronger laning phase and secured a 2-0 victory, despite DK’s efforts.
KT’s impressive performance in the Swiss stage, facing only LPL and LCK teams, has prepared them well for the Knockout stage. On the other hand, DK will have to watch the rest of Worlds from the sidelines.
In the upcoming decider match, Fnatic will face Weibo Gaming, with the quarterfinal draw for the Worlds Knockout stage following the G2 versus Bilibili Gaming series.
