Graphic designer and gamer Nik McKeever has captured the excitement surrounding the upcoming tank hero reveal by bringing the speculation to life with their art of Mauga, the Talon assault character introduced in a digital short about Baptiste in 2019.
With the recent addition of the Samoa map, it’s no surprise that many fans believe Mauga will be the next tank hero. McKeever’s art perfectly captures the essence of Mauga, and Blizzard would be wise to take inspiration from their work.
While this concept art may not become an actual skin in the game, McKeever’s hero design kit for Mauga is impressive. It showcases the complexity and nuance we’ve come to expect from new tank heroes in Overwatch.
Although this fan-made version of Mauga is unlikely to be added to Overwatch 2, players can look forward to learning more about the game’s next hero at BlizzCon on November 3rd.
