True Sight Documentary for TI11 and TI12 Unlikely to Happen, Valve Silent on Release Date

Derek Morgan

Dota 2 fans were left disappointed as Valve failed to release the highly anticipated True Sight documentary for The International 2023 (TI11). Since TI7, True Sight has been a beloved series that takes viewers behind the scenes of professional Dota 2 teams during the TI finals. However, this year, there has been no communication from Valve regarding the release of last year’s documentary, and it seems that a True Sight for TI12 is also uncertain.

True Sight documentaries have always been eagerly awaited by the Dota community, with Valve typically releasing the previous year’s documentary before the next TI. However, this pattern has been broken with the absence of a TI11 True Sight. Despite rumors suggesting a potential release before TI12’s finals weekend, the event has come and gone without any sign of the documentary.

Vyacheslav “Art1st” Lyadnov, host for Team Spirit and former Counter-Strike pro, revealed on his Telegram that there will be no True Sight this year. He also mentioned that the team’s vlog will be released soon. Another source indicated that Valve did not record the necessary footage for a True Sight at TI12.

While it is still possible for Valve to create a True Sight using existing footage and post-event interviews, it would lack the captivating moments that make the series so popular, such as the interactions between matches and behind-the-scenes content.

Last October, n0tail from OG expressed concern over the decrease in prize pool and the absence of a True Sight documentary. He highlighted the positive impact of True Sight as an advertisement for the game, bringing in new players. The lack of communication from Valve regarding True Sight has left fans wondering if future champions will be immortalized in the series.

Valve had previously assured teams that True Sight for TI11 was still in the works but would be released closer to the TI finals. However, this did not happen, and Valve has remained silent on both the release date for TI11 True Sight and any plans for future documentaries.

Time Score
TI11 Finals Weekend (Oct. 27) No True Sight released
Oct. 31 Vyacheslav “Art1st” Lyadnov confirms no True Sight for TI12
