The latest collaboration between Overwatch 2 and K-pop group Le Sserafim has brought some exciting cosmetics for popular heroes. However, the hefty price tag attached to these items might make you reconsider before making a purchase.
The Overwatch 2 and Le Sserafim collab event started on November 1st, introducing five new Legendary skins to the store. But here’s the catch: the “mega bundle” that includes all cosmetics for Brigitte, D.Va, Kiriko, Sombra, and Tracer costs more than many highly-rated video games available today, such as Elden Ring, the potential Game of the Year for 2022.
Yes, you read that right. The Le Sserafim Mega Bundle comes with a staggering price of 6,800 Overwatch coins, equivalent to approximately $68. While the bundle does offer Legendary skins for all five heroes and additional cosmetics like a dance emote, it’s worth noting that you could purchase one of the most critically acclaimed games of recent years for the same amount of money.
Putting things into perspective, this collection of cosmetics is even pricier than some recently released popular games like Baldur’s Gate 3 and Alan Wake 2. Although the skins are undoubtedly cool and will undoubtedly be snapped up by many players, it’s essential to take a step back and consider the cost.
The Le Sserafim Mega Bundle comprises a total of 21 items. Alongside the Legendary skins for Brigitte, D.Va, Kiriko, Sombra, and Tracer, it includes a “Choreography” emote, victory pose, and name card for each hero. Additionally, a Kira-Kiramari weapon charm is part of the bundle.
While Battle.net currently lists the bundle as available for only one day, this may be a bug. It is reasonable to expect that Blizzard will keep the bundle in the shop for at least a week to capitalize on the excitement surrounding BlizzCon this weekend.
